Baked Stew

(serves 6-8)

2 lbs. stew meat (not browned)
1 small can tomatoes
1 T. sugar
6 small carrots (cut in strips)
3-4 medium potatoes (diced or quartered)
1/2 c. celery (diced)
1 onion, diced
1 T. Minute tapioca
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 slice bread (broken into bits)
1 cup water

Mix all above ingredients together in Dutch oven or casserole and cover. Bake in 325 degree oven for 3 1/2 hours. This is a very good stew and so easy to make especially on busy days, just put in oven and that's it.
